NASA’s New Plans For Moonbase To Be The ‘Gateway To The Rest Of The Solar System’

NASA will accumulate more samples and conduct experiments for the Moon as a base for future exploration

NASA has disclosed the priorities for the Artemis II mission, which will carry the first woman and the next man to the lunar surface.

This involves bringing back 85 kilograms of lunar samples from the surface and sub-surface of the moon, 21 kilograms more than was previously gathered by the Apollo missions.

The samples assembled could include traces of water and other chemicals, which could assist scientists to plan deeper for the mission.

NASA also plans to found an Artemis base by the end of the decade, situated at the lunar south pole, as well as experimenting to figure out the source of the sun and our astronomical environment.
